The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has published recall notices for a range of decorative and coloured sand products that may contain asbestos.

Asbestos is a prohibited substance in Australia and there has been a ban and import prohibition of asbestos in Australia since 2003 due to its long-term risks to health.

To review the current product recall notices and find out what to do, visit the ACCC's Product Safety website.

For advice regarding the work health and safety laws and requirements at your workplace, contact your WHS regulator.

For safe disposal advice for consumers with affected products outside a workplace, visit the Asbestos and Silica Safety and Eradication Agency website.

Learn more about asbestos from a work health and safety perspective, including how to manage the workplace risks on our asbestos topic webpage.

Please note, this webpage may be updated as further information is received.
