Our Guide to managing the risks of rooftop solar installation work assists duty holders, primarily PCBUs, to manage the risks to health and safety associated with rooftop solar installation work.
The guide was updated in September 2025 to include guidance for managing the work health and safety (WHS) risks of installation of batteries (battery energy storage systems).
The guide is for anyone who retails, surveys, designs, installs, tests, commissions, retrofits, repairs, maintains, decommissions or removes rooftop solar systems on residential or commercial structures. This includes new or retrofitted solar panels, inverters, batteries and related equipment.
