The mid-term review of the National Return to Work Strategy 2020–2030 examines the effectiveness of the Strategy in its first 5 years to drive and leverage national action to improve return to work outcomes for workers with a work-related injury or illness.
The review highlights improved national collaboration and broad recognition that the Strategy has effectively influenced, informed and guided stakeholder actions to improve return to work outcomes for workers with a work-related injury or illness.
Stakeholder feedback on national initiatives delivered under the Strategy have been positive, however national return to work outcomes do not appear to be improving.
Overall, the review found that the Strategy remains fit-for-purpose and stakeholders support continuing to use the Strategy to drive national efforts to meet key challenges and opportunities to improve return to work outcomes.
