This guide is to help major hazard facility (MHF) operators provide information to the local community and authorities about their MHF. It should include what the community should do if a major incident occurs at the facility.

  • decide who the information should go to, including identifying the local community and authorities 

  • decide what information you need to give to the local community and authorities.
