This checklist for health and safety representatives (HSRs) should be read in conjunction with the Guidance for health and safety representatives: asbestos.

This checklist is designed to assist HSRs ask questions to help understand if WHS requirements are being met in their workplace. The primary responsibility for ensuring a healthy and safe workplace rests with the person conducting a business or undertaking (PCBU; e.g. your employer), and the person with management or control of the workplace (e.g. site manager). Managing the risk of asbestos is not the responsibility of an HSR.
