Taking Action: A best practice framework for the management of psychological injury claims for the Australian workers’ compensation sector (the framework) is now available.

Workers’ compensation authorities, insurers, claims managers and others involved in the workers’ compensation process will find the framework’s practical and evidence-based guidance useful.

The framework can inform best practice approaches to:

  1. managing psychological claims focusing on the ‘person on claim’

  2. optimising claim management teams

  3. engaging and supporting employers in the recovery at work/return to work process

  4. gathering evidence for treatment and rehabilitation

  5. using analytics and automation throughout the claims process, and improving the recording process.
