Learn about the extent to which employers, sole traders and workers are aware of work health and safety risks and controls in their workplace, in the Mindfulness of work health and safety in the workplace report.

The study indicates how aware employers, sole traders (operators of non-employing businesses) and workers are of factors that may influence work health and safety in their workplaces. The study also presents findings about risk management, such as spending time actively looking for possible failures and treating a near miss as useful information.

Overall, the study found that there was a high level of mindfulness of work health and safety in the workplace among all groups. For example, the majority agreed that they know what could go wrong in the workplace and that everyone was accountable for safety.

The report is one of a series examining safety behaviour, perceptions and attitudes from Safe Work Australia survey data. It is prepared to inform the development of policies in relation to work health and safety. The views and conclusions expressed do not necessarily reflect the views of Safe Work Australia Members.

More details about the Mindfulness of work health and safety in the workplace report are available on the Safe Work Australia website.
