Safe Work Australia has published 4 new videos showcasing the latest evidence and systems thinking to prevent work-related musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs).

MSDs are the leading cause of workers’ compensation claims in Australia, accounting for more than half of all claims.

The videos feature presentations from the Musculoskeletal Disorders Symposium, hosted by Workplace Health and Safety Queensland in June 2021.

Watch each video to learn from leading MSD experts about:

  • Closing the evidence to practice gap in MSD prevention: what do we need to do? - Associate Professor Jodi Oakman (La Trobe University)
  • Applying systems thinking to understanding MSDs - Associate Professor Sharon Newman (Monash University)
  • Derailing workplace MSD risks through systems thinking - Associate Professor Anjum Naweed (Central Queensland University)
  • Addressing sedentary behaviour: occupational sitting—an emerging workplace health and safety issue - Associate Professor Genevieve Healy (University of Queensland)

Watch the videos in our multimedia library. If you would like to watch other presentations from the Symposium, register here.
