This report by The University of Sydney presents the findings of a pilot study that aimed to:
- examine the demographic and workplace correlates of work ability
- quantify the relationship between work ability and factors related to productivity
- evaluate a new work ability assessment tool for use in organisations and survey research.
Work ability, or workers’ capacity to meet the demands of their jobs, is an important component of sustained employability. If work is designed and managed to eliminate or minimise hazards and risks work ability will be improved. Improving work ability can extend working lives.
