Overview
Acrylonitrile (CAS 107-13-1) is a clear, colourless, highly flammable liquid with a mild, unpleasant odour. It is also known as vinyl cyanide.
The major uses of acrylonitrile are in the manufacture of polymers, resins, plastics and nitrile rubbers. Examples of work activities involving acrylonitrile that require special attention when assessing exposure include acrylic fibre production.
