WHAT ACTIVITIES ARE YOU GOING TO ORGANISE FOR SAFE WORK AUSTRALIA WEEK 2009
Safe Work Australia has come up with four simple steps to make Safe Work Australia Week a successful one in your workplace.
Follow the four steps below:
Safe Work Australia Week Safety Education Pack. You can download these here.

Get involved! There are plenty of ways you can promote safety as part of Safe Work Australia Week, such as:
- holding workplace safety seminars
- safety training for staff and management
- holding a safety themed morning tea
- providing health assessments
- safety competitions
- review safety procedures
- create a safety suggestion box and give out prizes for the best suggestion of the week, or
- establish an OHS committee, to name just a few!
REMEMBER to….
Be creative – your only limit to how you can promote safety at work is your imagination.
Be inspired – see what other workplaces did last year.
Advertise and promote your activities to staff
Now you have the idea – get the word out!
- Use the poster to promote events in your workplace. You can write in the activities for the week and place it in a spot where everyone can see!
- Put a message on your staff intranet.
- Send a media release to local media about your organisation’s plans for the week.
- Put a message about your safety activities in your staff newsletter.
Tell us what you did and send pictures!
We want to hear all about it, send us details of what you did in your workplace during Safe Work Australia Week. Send your email to swaw@safeworkaustralia.gov.au
Safe Work Australia would love to publish your story on the website to inspire others and showcase you as a Safety Champion of Safe Work Australia Week 2009.
