Safety Ambassadors Paul Waters
Background information
I have worked at Eraring Power Station for 28 years. My job was then a Trades Assistant over a number of years I became involved in the different safety programs here at Eraring. On the OHS Committee and the B Safe safety program Committee. I have won the Safety Works Passion Making a Difference award.
And NSW Safe Works Best Individual and a nominee for the Nation Safe Works award.
Why workplace safety is important to me
Workplace safety is important to me because I have seen and helped people to recover from serious injuries and I realise these can be prevented.
My plans for national Safe Work Australia Week
I am going to organise a Safety morning tea or lunch.
A Safety Poster competition and place as many posters a round the Power Station to promote Safe Work Australia.
Contact the local media before October to promote Safe National Week locally.
I am having a meeting to discus how we can as a OHS group
promote this Safe Work Australia Week program.
Any more great ideas.
Why I accepted the role as a national Safe Work Australia Week Safety Ambassador
Because I thought it would be a great opportunity to promote safety here at the Power Station.
At the Power Station we have started some major upgrades and building a Reservoir & Pump Station plus a new Fly & Ash Disposal plant.
We will have approximately 700 people working at the Power Station through out this upgrade
