Why workplace safety is important to me
To avoid unnecessary suffering through incident or injury by taking proper precautions, the workplace can be transformed holistically into a human environment where health and wellbeing of employees is equal in value to the business of the organisation whether it be production and profit or, service provision.
My plans for national Safe Work Australia Week
Considering that manual handling constitutes a serious percentage of injury reports and claims, I would like to see a heightened awareness of this problem.
As it is also Health and Safety week in the state ofVictoria I will be attending several relevant seminars and /or workshops run by WorkSafe Victoria.
I would like to see a relationship drawn between the state and national recognition of this week so will be seeking connections here.
Why I accepted the role as a national Safe Work Australia Week Safety Ambassador
As in the previous question I believe the ‘ think globally .. act locally’ attitude is important for employers and employees nation wide to recognize the importance and value of concentrating their awareness and effort during this week.
I would like to think that I am able to help spread the message of ongoing improvement in workplace OHS
