Why workplace safety is important to me
For me workplace safety goes beyond complying with the employers’ duty of care and compliance with the relevant OH&S regulations and legislation at both the Commonwealth and State levels. For me workplace safety is part of a strategy for the overall well being of my employees and all who enter our sites. Workplace safety is also important, particularly on building sites as a management strategy for ensuring that projects are completed on time and injury free. Equally important, it forms part of our reputation risk management as being a responsible employer. Proline likes to see all who are engaged in the industry go home each day safely.
My plans for national Safe Work Australia Week
In my own workplace I will actively promote Safe Work Australia. I will do the same with my own peer group and sub-contractors. In my role as National President of Master Builders Australia I am prepared to work with this initiative in promoting the importance of workplace safety. This builds on our public commitment to a safer workplace.
Why I accepted the role as a national Safe Work Australia Week Safety Ambassador
Improving workplace safety requires leadership, a responsibility I have taken on particularly demonstrated during my current role as National President of Master Builders Australia. I believe that I can leverage off my role as National President to promote the importance of workplace safety. Being an Ambassador can only assist in promoting enhanced work place safety.
