Housing Construction Falls - Draft Code of Practice
The Housing Falls Draft Code aims to reduce the incidence of fatalities and injuries resulting from falls from height in the residential construction sector. It also provides guidance to the residential construction sector on how to meet the obligations under the National Standard for Construction Work.
The Draft National Code of Practice for the Prevention of Falls in Housing Construction was made available for public comment from April 30th 2008 to July 31st 2008.
There was a significant response from a wide range of stakeholders including individuals, residential builders, roof tilers, metal roofers, businesses, industry associations and OHS authorities. These public submissions are now available for viewing.
The draft Housing Falls Code is now due for revision based on the public submissions received during November 2008.
