About the Nanotechnology Work Health and Safety Expert Working Group

Role of the Nanotechnology Work Health & Safety Expert Working Group includes:

  • to promote a coordinated national approach to the management of nanotechnology work health and safety issues
  • to identify nanotechnology work health and safety research needs and consider the findings of the research and other nanotechnology work health and safety information
  • to make recommendations regarding policy options and the work health and safety regulatory framework in relation to nanotechnology health and safety issues
  • to facilitate collaboration and effective sharing of information on nanotechnology work health and safety management amongst work health and safety regulators, industry, unions, researchers, and relevant work health and safety practitioners

Membership of Nanotechnology Work Health & Safety Expert Working Group

The following agencies/organisations are represented on the Nanotechnology Work Health & Safety Expert Working Group:

  • Safe Work Australia
  • Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ)
  • WorkCover NSW
  • WorkSafe VIC
  • SafeWork SA
  • Department of Commerce, WA
  • Comcare
  • Commonwealth Department of Industry
  • National Industrial Chemicals Notification and Assessment Scheme (NICNAS)
  • Australian Council of Trade Unions (ACTU)
  • Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), and
  • other agencies may join the Expert Working Group as the work progresses.
