Adopted National Exposure Standards For Atmospheric Contaminants In The Occupational Environment [NOHSC: 1003 (1995)]

Substances listed in this document have exposure standards based on health effects for most workers. However, there are a number of instances where other considerations, such as, economic, social or technological implications, or sampling and analytical limitations, have also been taken into account.

NOTE: There have been a number of amendments to this document since its publication in 1995, however these have not been consolidated into the list of exposure standards published. A current list of all declared National Exposure Standards can be obtained from the Hazardous Substances Information System (HSIS).

For jurisdictions that have implemented the harmonised Work Health and Safety (WHS) laws, please refer to the Workplace Exposure Standards for Airborne Contaminants document. For jurisdictions yet to adopt the model WHS laws, this document is still available for reference.
