Return to work outcomes for premium payers are reported to Safe Work Australia for inclusion in the Comparative Performance Monitoring (CPM) reports.
The Return to Work Monitor (the Monitor) is a national survey of injured workers who have had ten days or more compensation. The interviews are conducted seven to nine months after a claim has been lodged. The survey provides information about two key stages in the injured workers’ claim experience, including:
- the time when the claim was lodged, and
- the time of return to work (RTW), if RTW occurs.
- All jurisdictions, with the exception of WA and the ACT, participate in the Monitor.
The Monitor contains both return to work outcome data and data on the injured workers’ perceptions of their return to work experience. These include:
- durability of RTW
- reasons for returning to work
- the extent to which injured workers report suitable duties being provided to assist their RTW
- the reasons for unsuccessful RTW
- the extent to which key stakeholders (e.g. doctors, employers, insurers) are perceived to help or hinder RTW, and
- a rating of the services provided by insurers.
Please Note: These reports (below) are housed on the HWCA website.
