  • educational institutions eg TAFEs, universities
  • employer bodies and industry associations
  • trade unions & their organisations eg. State/Territory Trades & Labour Councils
  • private work health and safety service organisations
  • training consultants.

Others who may provide or advise on work health and safety training are:

  • associations of work health and safety professionals
  • technical or scientific organisations
  • manufacturers/suppliers.

Training for licensed or certificated operations

Most work health and safety jurisdictions require that certain `high risk' jobs are only undertaken by suitably trained and `certified' or licensed operators. Scaffolding rigging, crane and hoist operation and pressure equipment operation are some of these.

Training for these certificates or licences in most jurisdictions (State/Territories/Commonwealth) is provided by Registered Training Organisations. Work health and safety Authorities issue the licenses which are accepted in all jurisdictions in Australia.

For specific requirements and the range of licences required contact the work health and safety Authority in your state or territory.
