Safe Work Australia intends to develop two new model Codes of Practice to provide advice on minimising the hazards of Vibration and Blood-borne Pathogens in the workplace by the end of 2012.
There is currently no national code of practice on vibration.
The Blood-borne Pathogens Code will be developed from a review of the NOHSC National Code of Practice for the Control of Work-related Exposure to Hepatitis and HIV (Blood-borne) Viruses. Both of these Codes are to be developed within the framework of the new national Work Health and Safety legislation.
We invite people from all industries to attend the public consultation workshops, so that we can get a broad range of ideas on the scope, application and approach to these two codes. Workshops are expected to run from 9:30 am until 4:00 pm.
