Tom Phillips, AM
Chair of Safe Work Australia
As Chair of Safe Work Australia, it is my priority to help ensure all Australian workers return home safely every day from their workplaces.
Safe Work Australia is committed to improving workplace safety through the development of harmonised work health and safety laws. I support this important regulatory reform and believe it can help reduce workplace incidents for all Australian workers.
Mr Rex Hoy
CEO, Safe Work Australia
I have learnt that great work is about the people you have to get the job done. Employers need to be committed to keeping workplaces safe for their people and meeting the same high standard across Australia. This means that all Australians can feel reassured they are working in a safe and healthy environment.
It’s been a lot of hard work and negotiation, but to be able to be part of the team to deliver harmonised work health and safety laws for all workplaces in 2012 is a great achievement for Safe Work Australia and a highlight of my career. I am proud to be involved in changing Australian workplaces for the better and hopefully preventing further work-related injury, disease and death.
