The Annual Safe Work Australia Awards are the national work health and safety awards acknowledging excellence in work health and safety at a government, organisational and individual level.
To enter the Annual Safe Work Australia Awards, participants must be a winner in their respective category in the state, territory, Seacare or Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Commission (SRCC) level awards.

The 2011 state, territory and SRCC work health and safety awards are now complete and the winners have been entered into the 7th annual Safe Work Australia Awards.
This year, 37 finalists have been entered into the Awards and will attend the ceremony in Canberra on Thursday 26 April 2012.
The finalists are from a wide range of industries and organisations across Australia, each sharing a common passion for safety in the workplace.
Finalists in the 7th annual Safe Work Australia Awards
Category 1 - Best Workplace Health and Safety Management System
This award recognises demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement of workplace health and safety through the implementation of an integrated systems approach. Two Awards will be given under the following sub-categories:
a. Private Sector
b. Public Sector
Category 2 - Best Solution to an Identified Workplace Health and Safety Issue
This award recognises excellence in developing and implementing a solution to an identified workplace health and safety issue. Entries for this award may include a product solution, design/engineering innovation, training program, awareness raising activity or other risk control measure that reduces the risk of work-related injury and disease.
Category 3 - Best Workplace Health and Safety Practice/s in a Small Business
This award recognises high standard workplace health and safety practices in small business. This category is limited to small businesses that have fewer than 20 employees or full-time equivalents.
Category 4 - Best Individual Contribution to Workplace Health and Safety
This Award recognises individuals who have made an exceptional difference to health and safety.
a. An employee, such as a health and safety representative.
b. An outstanding contribution by an OHS manager or a person with responsibility for OHS as part of their duties.
